WOODEN SPOON WALES AND CENTAURS RFC HOST 5 SPECIAL SCHOOLS AT CARDIFF CASTLE

Wooden Spoon Wales hosted a group of excited children at Cardiff Castle on Saturday before they attended the Wales v England game. The event was funded by a generous donation from Centaurs RFC.

30 Children & teachers from 5 Special (SWASSH)schools attended the event, namely Ysgol Bryn Castell Bridgend, Brynllywarch Hall Newtown, Park Lane Aberdare, Headlands Penarth & Carmarthen STLC (Burry Port).

The youngsters were able to explore the historic Castle grounds & then tucked into a delicious buffet before leaving to watch the game.

For the children it was a unique new experience, one they will never forget.

A big thank you to Centaurs RFC, Admiral Insurance, Cardiff Castle & the WRU for helping to make the day a memorable experience.

CENTAURS SUPPORT HERTFORDSHIRE WOODEN SPOON TO FUND SENSORY SPACE PROJECT

Under its association with Wooden Spoon, Centaurs RFC donated funds to Herts Wooden Spoon to fund a new sensory room at the Roman Way Academy school in Royston.

The new sensory room which was opened on 21 March 2025, is designed to support children with sensory needs, and is set to have a meaningful impact on their childhood development.

Representatives of Herts Wooden Spoon and Centaurs were in attendance at the opening ceremony.  The sensory space provides a calm and stimulating environment, designed to support children with sensory processing difficulties.  The space offers tailored resources to help children regulate their emotions, develop their senses, and enhance their overall wellbeing.
